Q; Your worst/funniest or most embarrassing date?
A: I went on a movie date that turned into a dinner date as well. It was pretty late in the night once our movie let out, so my date and I decided to go to Denny’s to get to know each other a little better. I placed my order and had a cup of hot coco, as it was cold out that night. My date and I chatted and everything seemed to be going well **until** I asked the waitress for another cup of hot coco. My date became very uncomfortable with the idea that I was placing “another” order for coco that cost roughly about $2.50. He then suggested that the drink was a bit pricey and insisted that I cover the cost. I thought he was being “Mr. funny guy” at first, but he made it very clear that he didn’t know me well enough to be spending such a “great” deal of money on me. Needless to say, I ended up covering the cost for the 2nd cup of coco and never spoke to him again. This was defiantly my worst date ever lol
Q: Google the meaning of your name and talk a/b how it fits you?
A: I Goggled my name “TINA” and the results are as follows:
meaning “little one.” Derived from Latin. Competitive – a leader, independent, strength, creative and original. A refined intellectual, a woman who’s studious, analytical and very research oriented .
Tina is a strong, determined woman.
The meaning of my name in fact fit’s me perfectly! I’m most certainly competitive to the bone….think I’ve mentioned in prior blogs how I ran for just about “everything” in high school. As far as creativity goes….wow don’t even get me started there. My creative juices are constantly overflowing. I’m currently in the process of opening my very own line of decorative wine glasses where I’ll be personally handcrafting all of the designs myself!! In terms of me being a woman who’s studious, analytical and very research oriented….that, I am!! In my line of work, I’m constantly drafting reports and gathering research, so that description hit the nail on the head. I was pleased to find that my “ever so common” name actually did hold great significance in the woman that I actually am.
Q: Your Favorite Weird/Funny Single Behavior?
A: If you’ve ever seen the movie “Love Jones” then you’ll understand my love for jazz lounges. This is a movie a/b a woman (recently broken up with her boyfriend) that goes to this very romantic spoken word/jazz lounge and meets a man that eventually turns out to be her new lover. There’s a lot of other juicy details that happen in-between but I won’t spoil it for you. I have a local jazz /spoken word lounge not far from my house that I’ll go to every now and then…..all alone. My “weird” hope is that, on some random night, I’ll met this amazing man (just like Nia Long did in Love Jones) and live my happy every after lol YES I’M A HOPELESS ROMANTIC……I OWN IT (smile)
Day #8 Single Woman 30-day blogging challenge
Q: Name five things that are most important to you in your future mate?
A: 1. His relationship with God
Q: Describe where you are in life Vs. where you thought you would be at this point?
A: WOW…..well, I can start by saying, I thought I’d be an established actress in Hollywood. All my life, I’ve wanted to be an actress and unlike many, I’m not in the field for the money or fame. Yes, of course those things come with the territory, however, I do it for my absolute love of the craft. I defiantly thought I’d be married to an amazing man living an even more amazing life.
The reality of all this is that, I’m a single mother, striving to pursue her wildest dream of becoming an actress. I know that with time God will give me the desires of my heart but my learning experiences along the way were something I had to endure in order to have an absolute appreciation for the “greatness” that God will shower me with.
Granted, I’m far from where I’d like to be but all the glory to God that I’m not where I used to be.
Q: Sound off on the quote “Every woman has the exact love life she wants”
A: This quote, to me, is similar to the one that states “create the life in which you want to live”. If you want a particular love life, simply create it!! You will only receive what you chose to accept. I used to think that my “romantic, mental and physical expectations” were way too much to expect from a man but, I’ve learned that if I’m patient, God will send someone who will consider it an absolute honor to meet my expectations. Go for the gusto or you’ll only find yourself years later wishing you had.
Q: The biggest misconception that people have a/b single life.
A: Many people think that the single life “should” be sooo much fun. I mean, you have no one to report back to or split everything half & half with right. Well although those are perks to the single life, ultimately, I think we all someday want someone to join us on our journey. After a night out on the town with some of my married girlfriends, I, too would like to go home and snuggle up lol
